Climbing Acotango

"The easiest glacier climb among the most straightforward 6000 climbs in Bolivia, gives us also a great chance to explore the highest deserts of the world"

Uncountable volcanoes, still alive, shelter below huge colourful deserts where the flight of the pink flamingos and condors complete the composition of an unbelievable nature. A rare wildlife (pumas, huemules, viscachas, vicuñas, guanacos, rheas, tattoos and others) that inhabits this northern Atacama Desert is sheltered near the endemic polylepis trees and lepidophyllum bush which form the highest world's forest. From a vantage point at more than 5000 m high on an abandoned road, you and the Azimut Explorer staff, will attempt the summit of Acotango walking on lava flow and small glaciers.
