Chacaltaya is a glacier slowly disappearing due to temperature increases attributed to global heating. At one point, but unfortunately not anymore, it was the highest ski resort in the world. A spectacular road zigzags up the rocky mountain to a height of 5220m/17126ft. Once at this vantage point, we will have a comfortable walk along the long ridge of Chacaltaya to reach the dominions of Huayna Potosi and visit an impressive old glacier.
